Landmark Development Moves Forward
Omega Landmark Development is backed with 87 million dollars to move forward with a real estate development in DeSoto County. The due diligence and planning stages have already begun since early fall of last year; Giler Urban Design's Planners have taken the lead on the project. This community will be on a 4,700 acre tract of land in DeSoto County referred to as, The Spanish Trail
This site made headline news in Charlotte, Sarasota, and Ft. Myers last year with Crystal & Assoc. proposing Landmark in being one of the candidates in the possibility of hosting Florida Gulf Coast University Satellite Campus. And now, it holds a ticket as being a candidate to host another high profile establishment.
This community will be on a 4,700 acre tract of land in DeSoto County referred to as, The Spanish Trail which borders on the DeSoto and Charlotte County Line. This property could also incorporate another approximately 3,300 tract of land referred to as, The Chapman Trail which is on the Charlotte County side of the border. Both properties reside along the border corridor on county road 31. Landmark Development has secured the funding primarily for the development of The Spanish Trail. In real estate, Landmark is opting on two choices; the first choice would be to divide the land into 5 acre residences with commercial along the corridor, or the second which is to apply for a DRI, Development of Regional Impact. Both options are currently being weighed out. No doubt, DeSoto County agencies and Florida State officials are going to play a huge role throughout the process and eventually decide the outcome. Many supporters of Landmark Development, including Giler Urban Design are aware of all the obstacles to come. The community will be called Legacy, and if it turns into a DRI it could contain an impressive name. |
